• For the week ending on 23 July the national average prices of staple foods (wheat flour and edible oils) remained 9 percent higher compared to their prices on 26 February**,** pre-Middle East crisis.
• Compared to the week ended on 16 July, wheat flour prices increased marginally, likely due to higher transport costs associated with increased fuel prices.
• The cost of the basic food basket stands at PKR 16,513 per month (USD 59), equivalent to PKR 4,128 per week (USD 15) nationwide, excluding lower cost items such as vegetables or spices.
• Fuel prices increased during the reporting period, with petrol increased slightly by 5 percent while HSD increased significantly by 16 percent. Fuel prices remain significantly higher compared to their pre-crisis levels with petrol 27 percent higher and HSD 36 percent higher.
