- In April, WFP maintained malnutrition prevention activities across communes targeted under the 2025–2026 Lean Season response, despite suspension of unconditional assistance due to pipeline breaks. Nutritious food assistance reached 38,593 children under two and 32,159 pregnant and breastfeeding women, ensuring continuity of support to vulnerable groups.
- Following Cyclones Fytia and Gezani, WFP provided emergency cash assistance to 142,162 people across the east and west, with two additional rounds planned.
- To sustain lean season distributions and scale up cyclone recovery, WFP requires USD 24.4 million (May–October 2026), as current resources remain insufficient.
