KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- WFP, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), is piloting a refugee community worker initiative in Cairo and Giza to promote maternal and child nutrition, strengthen referrals, and improve access to health services, advancing refugee inclusion and social cohesion.
- In preparation for the planned hot meals pilot, WFP, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and the National Food Safety Authority assessed 237 school kitchens across all 27 governorates to evaluate infrastructure, food safety standards, and operational readiness, with an implementation plan now under development.
- A baseline assessment of 377 women participating in the “She Can” programme found that 94 percent reported improved business skills, highlighting the programme’s potential to enhance livelihoods and reduce vulnerability.
