HIGHLIGHTS

  • Funding shortfalls are impacting WFP’s ability to meet significant humanitarian needs. From July, WFP will provide monthly cash assistance to 100,000 households through a revised, vulnerability-based approach, maintaining full transfers to the most vulnerable households and reduced transfers for others, which will help extend available cash assistance through late November.
  • Additional funding is urgently needed to prevent further reductions in food assistance. Without new contributions, in-kind assistance, which is already being provided at a 75 percent ration, will be reduced from October, with fewer people receiving reduced rations.
  • Newly released IPC analysis shows improvements in food security and child nutrition across Gaza, however progress remains fragile, with the improvements driven largely by expanded humanitarian food, nutrition and health interventions rather than a recovery of livelihoods, local food systems or essential services.
