This locally led Anticipatory Action Plan (AAP) combines seasonal forecasts, food security projections, drought indicators and community observations to trigger timely, pre-agreed actions across Food Security, WASH, Protection, Education and Risk communication. Developed with communities, government authorities and humanitarian partners, the AAP aims to reduce expected drought impacts, with a particular focus on internally displaced people and other vulnerable groups. The mechanism enables the activation of the AAP and the release of pre-agreed finance from the WAHAFA Fuel funding.
