Sudan WASH Cluster has launched the WASH Assessment Strategy 2026, providing a coordinated framework to strengthen evidence generation, analysis, and use across the humanitarian WASH response. The strategy aims to improve the quality, comparability, and operational value of WASH information by promoting harmonized assessments, routine monitoring, and integrated analysis of needs, service functionality, and public health risks. Through strengthened systems such as the WASH Insecurity Analysis (WIA), Light Touch Monitoring, and standardized household and infrastructure assessments, the strategy will support evidence-based decision-making, prioritization, preparedness, service restoration, and recovery planning across Sudan.
