Between July 2025 and January 2026, DRC conducted labour market assessments (LMA) among displacement-affected communities in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Türkiye. Priority sectors were identified in each context based on their high or emerging potential to offer sustainable and inclusive livelihood opportunities for both displaced groups and host communities, and on the potential for cross-border skills transfer in the future. This brief provides a synthesis of recent DRC labour market assessments, protection monitoring and mixed migration research across these five countries to inform effective economic recovery interventions that build self-reliance both in displacement and future voluntary return.
