September should mark a return to classrooms, teachers and learning. For Palestinian children, it instead begins with profound uncertainty. In Gaza, normal formal schooling remains unavailable for a third consecutive year, deepening an unprecedented learning and protection crisis. In the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, violence, movement restrictions, school closures and fiscal pressures interrupt attendance and disrupt learning. Urgent action is needed to protect education, preserve system continuity and ensure safe, inclusive and meaningful learning.
