KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Under the earthquake recovery programme, WFP, in partnership with the Fırat Development Agency, established a machinery hub in Malatya, enabling wheat farmers in the region to rent essential equipment at affordable rates and support more efficient cultivation. The project aims to strengthen both the supply and demand sides of the wheat value chain through targeted investments, including improving farmers’ access to machinery, providing infrastructure support to mills to enable them to purchase wheat from local producers, and establishing sales agreements with municipal bakeries to procure wheat flour from these mills.
