HIGHLIGHTS
- Tens of thousands of people are returning to Akobo, Jonglei State, from displacement sites in Ethiopia, prompting a scaled-up humanitarian response amid a fragile calm.
- A credible risk of famine persists in four counties across Upper Nile and Jonglei States, including Akobo, under a worst-case scenario of escalating conflict, further displacement, and constrained humanitarian access
- Humanitarian access is intensifying as a concern, with confiscation of supplies, detention of aid workers and movement restrictions reported across Upper Nile, Jonglei and Central Equatoria states.
